What is a Christian?

Many people have different views about what a Christian is, however the Bible is quite clear on this point. Let us first explore what a Christian is not.

It is not simply someone who goes to church. Going to church will not make you a Christian. By the same token, going to McDonalds does not make you a cheeseburger.

It is also not only living a good life; there are a lot of good people in the world who are not Christians.

Many also believe that someone is a Christian because they live in a country with a Christian culture as opposed to a country with Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist culture.

These unfortunately are all untrue. If all of these do not make us a Christian, what does?

[Man looking at the cross]

A Christian is someone who has a personal relationship with God. It is more than just simply believing that a god exists. It is a very real, active and life-saving relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
